Another quick update...

Now for some more upbeat info so far....yesterday morning we had brekky with a lovely old french couple of 84 years of age....they are doing their 16th Camino....have done the walk over the pass 10 times....we said they were crazy but they just laughed at us.....we feel very inadequate.
Forgot to mention yesterday that it was only 1 degree when we woke ...very chilly. Yesterday arvo we ran into a couple of pommy girls who startded out from SJPdP just after us & got lost on the mountain...they were really lucky that a lady came along to rescue them. She had just collected her very elderly father from hospital & was taking him for a drive.
Also forgot.....thr weather when we were walking was glorious....sunny & clear....absolutely fantastic scenery....views to the Alps to the east......also lots of very cold, icy wind which blew us around a lot.
We´re in Pamplona at the moment...got a taxi here to give me some time to recover....will get a bus to LogroƱo tomorrow where we can start walking without too many big hills which have me spooked at the moment
Had lovely Tapas last night with some particularly delicious red wine....we were in the old part of the city on the street where they have the running of the bulls.
Love to all

Mum, you've got me almost crying with you crying and getting downhearted. At least the hills will be behind you and you can take it a bit easier on the flats and hopefully pick up some distance. What Peter says is true, you'll soon adapt to it all. Just think by skipping a fe bits here and taking the bus you might have time to do the extra bit out to the coast.

Was the Spanish lessons I got you any help in the communication side of things?

Keep on plodding along and just take it all in and just think back you probably won't remember the bad start after a while as it will all get easier.

Love you both x x

Sorry to hear that you guys had such a rough start. Don't stop - it will get better and you'll become so fit that we'll all be trying to keep up with you at Bootcamp - the hill will seem nothing to you.
It's great to see that at least your fingers are working, and as you can see there are loads of us watching for your next instalment.
The scenery sounds amazing and I'm very envious of those Tapas.
We wish you all the best for the next walking stage.
Lynley and Rodger.

Well I do recall you said the first few days would be the hardest... If you get to enjoy the good life in pamploma and don't want to keep up trekking... you know where we are!!!

Mark would be happy for the big white barra hunter to visit...

Seriously give yourselves a couple of days and rests when and if you need them and you will be jogging up those hills and the views will be so beautiful as you crest each hill you will not notice any pain going down..

We have our own version of difficult climbing... all the stairs in Positano!! (there is the bus option available too for when we are pathetic..)

I thought I had posted this. Hope you don't get it twice. You two are amazing. I would be sitting by the pool sipping cocktails. Don't kill yourselves. Just enjoy it even if it's not the way you imagined it to be. Just as well it was your pack and not my suitcase John had to carry. Take care and enjoy. Spoke to Rich today. All good here. Hi John and Tina,

I read your blog from 30 Apr and thought oh my I hope you have the drug bag with you.. Keep on going you are getting to the good bits now, although I have to agree with Emmeline maybe you can spend a bit of time on the coast if you skip a few bits after all you are on holidays? DGW was asking about your blog during the week. I hope someone shows him how to read it.

Lots of love

To Tina and TBWBH,
Keep going as best you can. Already you've done better than "nah it's too hard". If that was me on the first day, John would have been giving me a piggyback for 10hr, 57min. I'm still trying to get Google Earth on my laptop to see your pilgrimage. I'll eventually get it.
Reading Budgens and your blogs is a bit like watching Big Brother. No uncut episodes please.
Keep up the effort as best you can and do what you need to enjoy it. We're all with you.

Hi Tina and John, sounds like you are really having an interesting time. Keep going for your mates at iPlan. How is the rock or have you placed it in a spot to lighten your load? My trip to Melbourne for Anzac day was easy compared to your journey. We are with you on your trip so keep going and think of the smarties I will have for you when you get back. Love from Roy xo
