Well this is our last night before we arrive in Santiago tomorrow.......although the signposts say we have 18kms to go, we suspect it will be more like 23-25kms....and a lot of that will be through very boring industrial estates......also we will pass the airport which is 12kms outside town....and we have to walk right around the runway which crosses the Camino!!!! Apparently very, very boring. Anyway we caná wait to see the spires of the Cathedral in the distance & know we are getting close.
Had a lovely walk today through more eucalypt forests & some pine forests....even a spruce forest....the smells are lovely. As Wendy (Canadian) has been a bit unwell she got a taxi yesterday & today we sent all the bags ahead to our accommodation (except John who wants to carry his all the way) It definitely feels strange to walk without my pack on....I find I use a totally different gait & hence have different aches at the end of the day. Can´t make up my mind yet whether to send it on again tomorrow or to carry it all the way.
We have prebooked out accommodation the last few days as it has been absolutely horrific trying to get a bed....arrived in one place onñly to be told all the beds had been prebooked....& we had another 6kms ahead of us to try to get a bed!!!!! It makes a great difference knowing we have a bed booked & can relax & enjoy our walking.
Short blog but stand ready for our successful completion blog from Santiago........
love to all

Fantastic...as we sleep tonight you'll be enjoying Santiago de Compostela !!!! We loved the old town so hope you get a good look around it too. I look forward to reading this again tomorrow!!!
G'day there,
Just caught up with your latest. Work's been busy. I've had to spend time at Dawson Mine training some new starters. The internet reception there ranges from poor to nothing.
Going back--- someone had to mention calf muscles again didn't they.
Very proud of you 2. It's been like reading an epic journey with the end in sight now. Incredible. When you get home, the walks will feel like a warm-up.
Will be thinking of you today.
Good morning,
A blustery day here in Brissie.
Are you going out to the coast when you get to Santiago? Apparently it's worth it.
Lynley and Rodger.
Have quivers in the stomach...you are soooo close. Short 'in touch'...Had good dinner at Celscious, Bur, Hds. and you would love the birthday cake....chocolate mud cake with wide swirls of chocolate and chocolate coated marshmellows the size if billiard balls...believe me it wasn't overly rich, but couldn'r face the chocolate swirls. Just thought I would let you know what we are doing???? Much love always.

Congratulations on a mighty effort, look forward to having a vino with you soon
Love Ron & Di
Amazing incredible achievement you 2. Will we recognise you or will you be a shadow of your former selves?
Hopefully we will catch up with you soon. We're off on holiday late afternoon Tuesday 10th - (Paul's at home that day) so hope you reach us before then or else we shall leave key with a neighbour.
Thinking of you and we are in total awe xxx
Ann and Paul xx
