Hospital de Orbiga....again....

We have just had a really great dinneR....lots of others cooking or preparing their meals in the kitchen...the only warm place to sit....there were a few Germans, a couple of French and us....one of the Germans had travelled to Australia....worked for 5 weeks in the Barossa Valley and now calls himself a wine maker when in fact he is a fitter and turner.....so there was much cheek going back and forth....they heard my name was Tina and wanted to know if I could sing like Tina Turner...I soon disabused them all of that idea...one of the girls said she couldn't sing like her either but she could definitely dance like her....raised lots of laughs....we also had to explain what 2/up was as another guy ...a Sicilian who has lived in Germany for the last 46 years but still says he is Sicilian...
has visited Australia and got a 2/up game as a souvenir but didn't understand the significance of it....we had to explain to the young one who then translated to the Sicilian...what a shamozzle.....but we all had a good laugh. It never ceases to amaze us just how well people who don't speak the same language can understand each other....sign language has a lot going for it. Plus we all have a grizzle about the weather together...and even the Germans agree there are too many Germans on the Camino/......

Hi J&T
Thought I had better let you Know that we are still reading your blogs. This weekend it is our turn to have some fun away. Going racing Saturaday & Sunday to Russell Island and back. We should have a good time because all our kids are there as well.
Paula came walking with the girls last Wednesday at Minippi Park just off Meadowlands Rd. The distance was a big debate so I measured it again at home on the UBD and believe it was about 12Km. Paula & I did it OK. It was a good test for the 22k walk. Socks are defineately important as I tell everone however I left in my usual sports socks and almost got a blister.

It feels like you are both in a good rythum, keep up the blogs because we do enjoy them. I hope the others will also write again soon.
Rene & Syl

Hi Pilgrams
We enjoy hearing from you,Di thinks I am addicted to the Blogs and the Camino as I am always re-reading them and looking at relevant websites.Great that the feet are standing up so well (apart from little toes). Busy weekend coming up, as usual, Taking Di to her first Rugby League match tonight ( not quite as culturally significant as the sights you are seeing) It is Bulldogs and Titans down at the new Skilled Stadium so should be fun. Sat Morning 30 30 then up to Mt Tamborine. Party that night then stay in a B n B and look around on Sunday . Went to the Sands last night after Gym with Michelle, Lynley and Rodge. They have an open mike night where any one can get up and play and sing, not great but a bit of fun instead of sitting in front of the telly. Hope all continues to go well, keep up the good work
Love you both
Ron and Di

Hello there,
Seems like ages since I've read the blogspot.Sorry to hear that it's raining again - oh no - it's raining again(isn't that a song?)
It would be better at night. We just keep being told it's going to and then it doesn't.
We're currently watching the Rugby Union, then out to dinner, up for the 30/30 or golf, home to do housework and ring Mum - you know the drill.
Sounds like you may be multi-lingual before too long, or just really good at charades.
Lynley and Rodger.
