Manzilla del Moto

here we are again....19kms today...my foot gave me absolute hell today....the little toe is covered in white tape which I am afraid to take off in case it peels off the blister as well!!!!....hence it is in agony when I put my boot on....don´t really know what to do...will try a gel tube tomorrow & see how that goes. The air here is so very dry that we both feel like we need a bath in a tub of moisturiser....reaching the end of the meseta....hopefully be in Leon tomorrow....may stay for a couple of days as apparently there is plenty to see there....probably won´t see the fireworks though M-M as there are no festivals on.
The german woman & her daughter I told you about got the bus today to Leon as the mother is so sick....now it seems John may be getting what she & several others have... a really sore throat then a cough....hard to avoid when we sleep so close together in the one room....getting a bit over the fighting for space...those germans are so bloody pushy....no wonder they started 2 world wars....John´s abiout to start a 3rd!!!
Been much warmer today....very clear sky....but also a bit harder to walk in....would be absolutely terrible in summer.
Saw a pilgrim today who is cycling the Camino with his dog in a trailer looking out at the passing scenery. Passed lots of irrigation work on the meseta ....it´s so flat they need to get the water to the crops somehow.
John was impressed today as he saw a few trains go past on the track close to the Camino....gave him something else to think about!!! It can be quite boring just walking, walking along a nearly straight track....for 2 days we´ve been following a track lined with newly planted trees....to offer shade to pilgrims in years to come
Must mention....I was talking to a Frenc woman & her daughter in our room last night & she asked me where we came from...told her Australia....then she asked what our first language was & was most surprised when I said English....she assumed that Australians spoke something like German!!!! I was shocked to say the least & so was John
Tried to post some photos...only to be told the USB port doesn´t work!!!!
Love to all

Had a good laugh, loved the story about John starting World War 3 over bed space with the Germans.

Tina- I think your French Lady believes you come from a country that borders: Germany, Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary and Italy, - most French do - that country does speak a type of German.

Johnnie needs to start telling the story (around the Germans) about needing to be immunized in Australia for kangaroo flu - our version of mad cow's disease - which is transfered by contact with body fluids(as he lets out a big sneeze from his cold). Tell 'em its highly contagious and sends you hopping mad. I'm sure their wily sense of humor would crack up over such remarks.

Every blog ..the number of kms that day is inspirational, even if the fet ,toe, etc are not so good. Thinking you should have had one of those gadgets you put on to gauge the steps you have walked ! Leon..that is close to half way eh? Oh boy are we proud of you. Re germans John take a deep breath and smile as you will come out the winner....no wars please. Can understand needing the moisturiser,,, I've been needing that for years. Boring....feel around you and get the atmosphere and peace around you....people used to tell us that the Nullabor was so boring..we felt it more spiritual and calm. Everyone are different I know. Take care look into that toe in Leon. Much love Enjoy

Guten tag,
Looks like today's blog involved bus, trains and trailable dogs - can't wait for the movie.
John may have to eat that garlic soup to fend off the lergy and that should include you too Tina, as you're sleeping so close.
Hope the gel tube works a treat.

Hi , sounds good if you can get your toe to be a bit dried out in Leon and then put the gel tube on once you're starting walking again. And a few drugs and a day of rest could help stave off the affliction John might have picked up too. Enjoy Leon and hopefully you might get some pics on this there. Love M-M

Dad you just need to take a deep breath and look the other way in regards to the Germans, I got very good a doing that, or the other option is to do lots of really loud and obvious sighing in their direction, though most of the time they don't get it. You sounded a bit like grandpa with the trains, must be a barker / boy thing. Glad to hear you are still plodding along. If you stop in Leon for a few days you want to make sure you don't stiffen up too much as you'll get out of habit. Also see if you can get a phone card so we can have a quick chat on the phone (only if you ,mmanage it). Been to a few more apartments this week so fingers crossed. Miss you both, love you x x

Hi, you both.
Sounds like a break in Leon might be the ticket. The food and wine sounds exciting. Helen and I are both envious and wish we could sample some.
2.00pm start for me today and been doing a bit around the farm. Almost ready to put a roof on the bush kitchen in the back yard. Plenty of camp oven cooking and open fires. Memories of Yaraka.
Love to you both.
