Ponferrada....

arrived here yesterday in the fog & rain & freezing cold...most pilgrims came over the hill in a taxi for some of the way including us....it was almost impossible to see coming over the hills....the taxi was only able to go about 40kms....could only see about 1 car space in front of us...quite scary as the road was quite twisty & steep & not in very good condition. Staying here in a hotel for a couple of nights to get warm....am sick of being cold...we thought the weather would be much warmer than it has been.
This is a lovely town with a castle staright from storybooks....the Knights Templar used to ride from it to defend the pilgrims...standing on the ramparts of the castle you can undeerstand why it was built where it is....the hills come almost to the front door....& you can see all around.
Hitting the trail again tomorrow......spoke with Emmeline who is very excited to finally have her own flat....& finds out this week if she has passed probation at work.
Richard is studying for exams at the end of the week....good luck Richie....we´re thinking of you....Dad´s been speaking with an Argentinian doctor who is cycling the Camino with his wife...he was interested to hear about you.
Ronnie.....¨The Long & Winding Road¨
Lynley....what are you doing out of bed at 4.00am???
Love to all

Good morning,
You'll be pleased to know that it's the normal 06:35am this morning. 4am is for drafting logos for our walk and for reading great blogspots from friends in Spain.
We're hoping to have the sticker logos for our shirts for the point to point walk - thanks to Ron - and he also mentioned a songbook?!
Hope you walm up. The castle sounds fabulous - it'll be great to see the photos.
Lynley and Rodger.

Still really enjoying your blogs and imagining the scenes.

Very busy at work each day, now that it's only Bede, Kym and I, but getting through the days with a good sense of accomplishment.

I'm going to Melbourne with Mum and Dad. We're looking forward to seeing Emmeline and checking out her new place.

I'm a bit "done in" at the moment. I've injured myself at Pilates and Gym - pectorals trapezius and Sterno-clydo mastoid. Physio taped where ribs join sternum and am limited in some movements. Not fun!

I hope the feet are holding up better now and you're getting your packs further up the queues.

Hi Pilgrims
Honouring you with our walk in the morning. You have inspired us all.
We have a songbook to get in the spirit. Here is your latst request

The long and winding road
Which we call Ca-mi-no
Just follow lost pilgrims
And stroll on with the flow
They will lead you to Saint James
Lead to his remains

The wild n windy days
An’ the rain comin’ down
We walk on through the haze
Cross the fields at crack of dawn
Over hills and through the trees
Pushin ‘ through the pain

Have fun ...we're gonna
Love you
Ron and Di
